My Halloween Nightmare in the Haunted Maze!
Halloween was just around the corner, and I was bursting with excitement! My best friend's birthday was coming up, and her mom said she could invite a friend to a haunted forest. Naturally, she asked me to join her. I had never been to a haunted forest before, and while the idea thrilled me, I knew I was a jumpy person, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect!
Arrival at the Haunted Forest
After driving to the attraction and grabbing our tickets, we began our journey down the haunted trail. For the first few minutes, everything was eerily quiet. The forest was dark, with swirling smoke on the ground, creating a spooky ambiance that was impressive. The special effects were truly cool!
Jump Scares and Flirting
As we turned a corner, actors in frightening costumes started jumping out at us, giving us a jolt! My friend let out a scream, which quickly turned into laughter. But let me tell you, my heart was racing, and it was anything but a good time for me!
Then, about halfway through the maze, a guy dressed as a werewolf jumped out and gave us a fright. My friend, however, was unfazed. Instead of panicking, she excitedly asked, “Oh, can I get a selfie with you? You’re so cute!” and began flirting with him. As they flirted, I found myself feeling left out and a little uncomfortable, so I decided to walk ahead. “I’ll catch up with you later!” I called out, trying to escape the situation.
The Zombie Encounter
As I walked further, I kept jumping at every little noise. My heart was pounding in my chest! I thought I was in the safe zone, and then I turned yet another corner too quickly. Out of nowhere, an actor dressed as a zombie leaped out right in front of me! He was way closer than he should have been, and my instinct kicked in. I screamed! But I didn't just scream—I punched him in the face!
To my horror, his nose started bleeding, and a big red mark appeared on his forehead. I felt absolutely terrible! “Oh my god, I’m so sorry!” I frantically apologized while trying to help him up, but he pushed me away, possibly fearing I would attack him again.
Consequences of My Action
My friend rushed over and, instead of checking on the zombie, she burst out laughing at the absurdity of the situation. It was, after all, a hilarious but disastrous joke! The actor eventually called over the manager, and I was beyond embarrassed.
The manager informed me that they wouldn't press charges, but I had to leave immediately and promised never to return. They wouldn't even let us finish the haunted trail; apparently, they didn’t want me “harassing their staff.” So there I was, abruptly exiting my first haunted forest experience in complete humiliation!
Lessons Learned
Looking back at that night, all I can do is laugh. “I punched a zombie!” Such a wild story! Rest assured, I won’t be returning to that haunted trail anytime soon. Remember folks, if you ever find yourself in a spooky situation, try your best not to punch anyone in the face!
