Why I moved to live to Morocco 10 years ago
Meet Rasa: Blond in Morocco
My name is Rasa, but you know me better as Blond in Morocco. One question that I often receive is: "Why did I choose Morocco as my home?" It's been almost a decade since I made this vibrant country my home, and I'd love to share my journey with you.
A Journey from Lithuania to Morocco
Originally hailing from Lithuania, I studied art history and got deeply involved in organizing contemporary art events back in my home country. Although I loved my job, the 9 to 5 routine left me yearning for more adventure and excitement.
This drove me to relocate to Marrakesh ten years ago, carrying just one suitcase and a million ideas. I still remember the hustle and bustle of the local scenes, the cacophony of sounds, and the mesmerizing chaos of everyday life in Marrakesh. Living in Morocco makes me feel truly alive; each day unfolds as a new chapter in my story, and I am the main character.
Creating Blond in Morocco
When I first arrived in Morocco, I had limited online resources at my disposal. This experience, coupled with my passion for the country, led me to establish Blond in Morocco. My goal is to create a premier travel resource that reveals the real Morocco, showcasing everything from hidden gems to popular destinations.
Over the years, I have traveled extensively throughout Morocco, exploring remote areas as well as bustling cities. Each journey allows me to form invaluable connections and gather insights that I now share with you, enhancing your experience in this beautiful country.
Understanding Morocco: The Modern and The Traditional
I am committed to introducing you to both facets of Morocco—the modern and the traditional. This duality of cultures makes Morocco a unique destination. I often remind the travelers I've guided (over 300 of them!) to not stress—they can immerse themselves in the beauty of this country as I guide them through it.
I assure you that just like me, you will undoubtedly fall in love with Morocco, discovering why this place has become my home.
